I was planning to make a simple puzzle-solving platformer for a while, but hadn’t started yet.

Now, I am taking an Actionscript class. So I decide to take this chance as the start point of my game, which will be based on Flixel and Box2D.

I just realize that Flixel doesn’t use Flash’s vector rendering system as default. So, the art style of my game should be quite retro. That’s why I have turned this image into 216 color palette

Character - Akasha

Just a rearrangement of 2 versions of Akasha, a clone that dies all the time.

The one to the left is the “monkey model”. She/it lacks the sophisticated brain implants and muscle augmentations. In order to match up the performance as much as possible – some less advanced and ugly devices are brutally installed on an inferior body, which doesn’t grow hair and bleeds from the nose all the time.

Must Get My Sh1t Back

Remember in Diabolo 2, you need to run miles to get your slightly better sword back from your fallen body? Well, this is the same situation.

Akasha is a clone and dies a lot. When she dies, she will be reborn in a new body with all her memory very much intact thank to the brain implants. However, her new body is inferior and lacks muscle augmentations and advanced armor. She need to find her old body and retrieve rare parts that are needed for creating better body.

Btw, this is a zero-G mining facility in space.

Very weak robots, serve as cannon fodder and occupationally  jesters.

Combat EVA Suit

The case thing they are carrying is an all-in-one maintenance box that recharges the battery, replenishes oxygen and fuel.
This case is based on the ventilatory devices that real life astronauts carry to the boarding deck.

The orange color is a reference to early space suit designs.

Reanimated Soldiers

Male: Generic front line foot soldiers, nothing special.

Female: Usually built for certain tactics. This variation is equipped with mechanic stilts, which provide faster dashing speed and can be easily discarded for better agility.
Some of the female droids have a “mouth gun”, or more like a taser.

Thoughts:
What if I put a crotch gun on the male version?
